And The Doctor Says .....

.... EDD is in about 30 days (24 days more like).

I was in the hospital yesterday with Wifey for ante-natal. They did all the tests and said everything was OK. At the scan session, they wouldn't tell me the sex of the child.

Why do Doctors in Nigeria do that?

They are just being careful someone told me. My friend Aristo was told after a scan that his wife was gonna have a girl but surprise, surprise, she had a baby boy a month later. He wanted to sue the hospital as they had gone shopping for girlie stuff. Probably had even started calculating how much he will be charging as bride-price when he launches an 'IPO' in about 18 to 20 years. Baby girl na big investment.

The wife claimed a miracle but the medical explanation was that due to the position of the baby at the time of the scan, it was impossible to see the penis so the Cuban Doctor declared the foetus a girl.

'See. No prick!'.

Its still a joke here.

I wished for a girl as my first child (for all the right reasons including the investment one) but after one very long discussion with my father-law, who had four daughters, no sons, I changed my plea to GOD.

And GOD agreed.

'Na Boy!' was the text I sent out to everybody on my phone that day.

The man converted his whole house into a nursery for his grandson. If he had his way, Mak would live with him. He was happy. And I was happy he was happy.

GOD knows I have tried.

Lol! Did the doctor really say that? That's too funny.

I, personally, prefer baby girls...Only because they win the cuteness stakes :)

@Undacova: He did. We still laugh at it here. Apart from the bad English, they tend to be very good doctors though. Many thanx for stopping by.
@GNaija: It was actually your post on 'A New Light' that inspired this post. It touched me somehow. Somehow. So now I wait for 'da la luz'. Thanx.

They didn't tell you? What hospital was that?Usually by the end of the 2nd trimester they can tell on USS and in my experience it's always written on the USS report they give you.Lawsuit?Hogwash.No injury to claim damages for.

37 wks eh?I'll hold on to my congratulations for 23 days then. And I think you're better off with a boy:more headache, less heartache.

a girl as the first is what u should pray for. she will never forsake u all through ur life. the son will one day concentrate on his life and his family plus his wife's family. the daughter will always be there for u through thick and thin, and u can live wt her in ur old age. how many daughers in-law want d hubby's old father or mother with them?

check, even with a son as first and a daughter second, she is always the mother to them all, including big brother who always wants her advice.

thanks for stopping by me
